The Research Department for Leisure, Travel and Alpine Medicine has been part of the UMIT since October 1st, 2003.
The Institute of Leisure, Travel and Alpine Medicine was officially founded on March 1st, 2004 with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schobersberger as director.
Inauguration of the Eduard-Wallnoefer-Centre on October 22nd, 2004.
The Institute was officially initiated during a press conference with LH DDr. Herwig van Staa on April 14th, 2004.
On September 13th, 2004 the Institute moved from Innsbruck to Hall.
